  • 400 grams ground beef (95/5)
  • 100 grams onion, diced small
  • 60 grams carrot, diced small
  • 400 grams tomatoes, canned
  • 200ml beef broth, fresh or from powder
  • 1 tsp Italian dried herbs
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 40 grams butter
  • 40 grams wheat flour
  • 2 cups milk, low fat
  • 80 grams grated mozzarella, low fat
  • 100 grams lasagne pasta sheets (6 pieces )

  1. Fry beef in oil over medium heat for 4-5 minutes until browned
  2. Add carrots and onions, season with salt & cook for 2 minutes
  3. Meanwhile, blend tomatoes with beef broth, herbs and garlic
  4. Add the tomatoes to the beef, cover with a lid and simmer for 30 minutes
  5. 10 minutes before beef is cooked, pre heat the oven at 180 degrees (360 Fahrenheit)
  6. For the bechamel sauce, melt the butter over medium heat, add the flour and whisk until smooth
  7. Add the milk, a quarter at a time and whisk until smooth until you have a thickened sauce, season to taste with salt and pepper
  8. In a small deep baking dish, add a third of the meat, 2 lasagne sheets and a third of the bechamel sauce, be sure to spread it out evenly and keep repeating this until you’ve used the mixture, top with the grated cheese and bake in the oven for 40-45 minutes at 360 fahrenheit until cooked
  9. Cut the lasagne into 4 even pieces and serve (check notes)


  • Serve with salad or vegetables
  • The lasagne will stay fresh in the fridge for 4-5 days
  • This can be frozen in individual portions and used within a month
  • To check if it’s cooked, poke a knife into the lasagne, if it’s soft, it’s cooked
