Carbs: 11g | Protein: 36g | Fat: 14g
- 300 grams beef (see notes) thinly sliced
- 250 grams broccoli, in small pieces
- 5 dried chillies, optional
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tbsp oil
For the marinade
- 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 5 grams ginger, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp ground pepper
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
For the sauce
- 1/2 tbsp corn starch
- 40 grams oyster sauce
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
Instructions
- Mix the marinade ingredients together in a bowl, add the beef and mix well, leave for 10-15 minutes
- Meanwhile, steam or cook the broccoli in boiling water then transfer to ice cold water so they stop cooking
- Mix the sauce ingredients together in a bowl
- Heat the sesame and oil together in a pan and once almost smoking, add the beef and fry at a high heat until browned (see notes)
- Add the sauce and as soon as it starts to thicken, add the cooked broccoli, mix well, season to taste and serve
NOTES
- you can use any frying steak, skirt, sirloin, fillet etc
- it’s important the pan is very hot when cooking the beef. If it isn’t hot enough, the beef won’t get well browned and will have less flavour, if need be, fry the beef in 2 batches
- you can eat this as it is or serve with rice or noodles
- this can be made as meal prep and re heated
